'Tinker Tailor' Rewarded with Three Oscar Nominations
As well as Gary Oldman’s nomination for ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role’, for his portrayal of George Smiley, ‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’ has received a further two nominations.
Alberto Iglesias has been nominated for Best Original Score, following up on his two previous nominations for ‘The Constant Gardener’ and ‘The Kite Runner’.
‘Tinker Tailor’s’ third nomination came in the category of Best Adapted Screenplay for the writing team of Peter Straughan and Bridget O’Connor, who sadly passed away during filming.
Gary Oldman faces a tough challenge from frontrunners George Clooney and Brad Pitt, but has still been attracting significant support.
This year’s Oscars will be held on Sunday the 26th of February 2012.
